Coming back from an injury?  Tired of pain?  Have you been told that running is bad for your knees, your joints, your feet?  Are you new to running?  Do you only want to walk? Do you run a couple of miles?  Are you a marathoner?   Regardless of where you are at or what your goals are, the simple techniques in ChiRunning® and ChiWalking® will help you move with more efficiency while preventing injury.  I will guide you through these techniques and analyze your running form to help you walk smart, run happy, and breathe easy.  You got this!

Stay motivated to move through the winter!  Join our Wachusett Winter ChiWalkers every Saturday morning on the rail trails and parks around Worcester County from January thru March.  Additional information will be shared upon registration.  

Cost: $5:00 per walk

 

100% of all money raised will go to The CASA Project to help abused and neglected children in Worcester County.

Heart Healthy ChiWalking Clinic

Learn how you can use ChiWalking to strengthen your heart, reduce stress, and re-energize your body! Gone are the days of "no pain, no gain", rather here is an approach to get curious about what your body is telling you, build on gradual progress, and be kind to your heart. We’ll create sustainable routines that work for your lifestyle and leave you feeling energized, not exhausted.

ChiWalking is a technique that uses alignment and relaxation to allow you to walk pain free with more efficiency. Learn the basic components of the ChiWalking technique and move well for life! In this series, you will be guided through many exercises and drills designed to leave you with a clear sense of what the ChiWalking technique feels like in your body.

We will spend time alternating between demonstrations, fun exercises, and technique drills - the nature of the day will be relaxed, fun, and inspiring. Beneficial for walkers to beginner runners all the way to ultra marathoners.

This is a relaxed, fun workshop to learn the basics of the ChiWalking Technique including:  

  • Easy drills to help you feel the ChiWalking form in your body.

  • Small group with individual instruction and helpful feedback. 

  • Appropriate for all levels - regardless of your fitness level.

  • Indoor venue however we will be outside weather permitting.

  • All current Covid protocols must be followed.  

  • Cost: $79 per person

ChiWalking / ChiRunning 2 Day Clinic

This is part of a two day clinic.  Day 1 will focus on the basics of ChiWalking (which is the foundation to the ChiRunning form) along with heart rate training.  Day 2 will focus on ChiRunning including the basics of the ChiRunning technique plus advanced techniques for breathing, running uphill, and running downhill.  You will receive a free personalized video analysis or your running form.

We will not be doing lots of running, so no matter what condition you're in, have no fear. We will spend time alternating between demonstrations, fun exercises, and easy technique drills - the nature of the series will be relaxed, fun, and inspiring. Beneficial for walkers to beginner runners all the way to ultra marathoners.

This clinic will include:  

  • Small group with individual instruction and helpful feedback.

  • Appropriate for ALL levels of runners - regardless of your fitness level.

Everyone can benefit from the ChiWalking® techniques.  Running is not for everyone but even those that run add walking into their run.  The focuses learned in ChiWalking® will help alleviate pain not only when walking but when standing, sitting, driving, and the list goes on.  Every ChiRunning® workshop starts with learning the basics of ChiWalking®.  Then you will learn how to carry that form into your run.

ChiRunning® is a running form and body movement technique that is all about energy efficiency and injury prevention using postural alignment and the central movement principles of  T'ai Chi.  It is not about martial arts or funny breathing. This is all about running smarter, not harder. Your body will thank you.

Why is breathing so darn hard when running?  It is so fundamental that it should be easy but its just not.  Have hope!  There are breathing techniques to help oxygenate your muscles and calm you, making you a more efficient runner.  I will show you how to incorporate rhythmic breathing and abdominal breathing into your run.
